POPULATION AND PUBLIC HEALTH
Both public health and population health value the well-being of a community equally. Where they differ is in the way that each addresses and studies the health of a population.
One of UBC’s most research-intensive units, SPPH fosters and translates pioneering research to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities.
The School offers six graduate-level academic programs at the Masters and Doctoral level, as well as a residency program in public health and preventive medicine.
The School provides innovative, interdisciplinary courses, delivered in traditional and distributed learning formats, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
SPPH’s seminar series cover the breadth of the population and public health landscape, from occupational and environmental health, to indigenous health, to epidemiology and biostatistics.
The School’s Internal site houses resources for faculty, staff and students, including funding opportunities, policies and forms, and academic resources.
