Dr. Elliott earned her Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Environmental Science from McGill University. She subsequently completed her MD, Family Medicine Residency, Master’s degree in Health Sciences and fellowship in Public Health and Preventive Medicine (PHPM) at the University of British Columbia. She completed the two year federal field epidemiology program with placement at BC Centre for Disease Control in Environmental Health Services. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
Dr. Elliott has been Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health Yukon since June 2015. She previously held the position of physician epidemiologist at the BC Centre for Disease Control in Environmental Health Services as well as leading teams in Enteric Diseases and Public Health Emergency Management. Her research at BCCDC included evidence based guidelines for public health response to wildfires, health effects of urban air pollution and wildfire smoke, health impact assessment, and environmental health surveillance. Dr. Elliott is an associate clinical professor at UBC and has supervised numerous students, residents and trainees.
