I am a Mechanical Engineer and Certified Industrial Hygienist. I have been working to reduce exposures to airborne toxic substances with ventilation and other control strategies since 1973, and have lived in Vancouver since 1966. My current interests include ventilation to control anaesthetic gases and surgical smoke, ventilation for tunnel construction, welding fume and paint spray ventilation.
I am proud to say I was involved in the only successful prosecution under the now repealed Factories Act of British Columbia. A manufacturer of ceramic tile cement was fined for failing to control exposure to asbestos that was added to the product.
More recently I have been an expert witness in several arbitration cases and a civil suit.
