In the spirit of cultivating inclusive, safe and vibrant places to work and learn, we invite faculty and staff to participate in Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday, February 25.
This year’s Pink Shirt Day theme, Kindness Comes Full Circle, reminds us that even the smallest acts of care can create positive ripple effects across our teams and community.
At UBC and SPPH, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, respectful and vibrant place to work and learn. On Pink Shirt Day, February 25, we invite faculty and staff to wear a pink shirt (available at the UBC Bookstore) or use a pink virtual background for meetings. Your participation helps raise awareness about the harmful effects of bullying. It also reminds us of the importance of kindness, compassion, and empathy in all our spaces.
As we reflect on how bullying affects people across all stages of life, from the school yard to the workplace, we’re sharing resources to help our community recognize, address and prevent harmful behaviours, and to foster empathy every day, not just on Pink Shirt Day.
