Growing up in Merritt, B.C., I had a strong interest in science but wasn’t sure where that interest might take me. I currently work as the Manager of Clinical Operations at Langley Memorial Hospital where I support frontline healthcare workers.

I was able to come to this role with plenty of experience, having held leadership roles in medical laboratory settings. The MHA expanded my horizons and gave me the confidence to transition to a different clinical setting.

It opened up lots of doors and possibilities that I didn’t even know existed.

Those many weekends with classmates were helpful in seeing the bigger network in health care. It helped me start dreaming about other possibilities and other ways I can contribute. If you are interested in studying in the MHA program, ask yourself: What is your ”why”? Ask yourself why you are pursuing this, because it involves dedication and hard work and there is sacrifice.

You really have to be grounded in your ‘why’ and be connected to that piece of it, because it’ll be your motivation.

Once you figure out your “why”, the MHA will teach you how.

The MHA gives you the skills to be a successful participant in the health-care system, no matter where you are in your journey. I think students will find clarity, if that’s what you’re seeking, in how you fit in and how your careers are going to develop.
