Risky Play Meets Nature Play – Vancouver

Dr. Mariana Brussoni and Professor Susan Herrington (UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture) received funding from the UBC Hampton Fund for an intervention study called “Risky Play Meets Nature Play”.
Introducing nature elements into the outdoor play spaces at two local childcare centres, they are providing the children with challenging play opportunities. Over the next few months they will be assessing the children for changes in social relationships, aggression, physical activity, and mental well-being.
