The Association of Population and Public Health Students (TAPPHS)

We are the voice for students in the School and organize events for students. Being a student representative does add a few responsibilities to your workload, but they’re not terribly onerous. The payback is that you will be meaningfully engaged in the running of the School as you will be the “point person” for the student body in dealing with the School on administrative and academic issues.

We have monthly meetings where we discuss matters relevant to SPPH students and get updates on events/initiatives from each of our committees.

TAPPHS Committees

Academic Committee: The Academic Committee is proactively engaged in providing initiatives related to the academic experience for SPPH students.

Professional Development Committee: The professional development committee is dedicated to creating and disseminating professional and networking opportunities for SPPH students.

Equity and Inclusion Committee: The Equity and Inclusion Committee promotes and advocates for equity and inclusion in SPPH and within TAPPHS through engaging with students and administrators.

Student Engagement Committee: The Student Engagement Committee plans initiatives and events to connect the SPPH student body, including organizing social events, managing TAPPHS social media, and connecting with incoming students.

SPPH Graduate Student Society (GSS) Department Representatives

TAPPHS also holds elections for the SPPH GSS Department Representatives who represent the School at the monthly GSS meetings. Elections for SPPH GSS Department Representatives take place annually in late Spring. SPPH GSS Department representatives are also TAPPHS members and attend the monthly TAPPHS meetings in order to keep up to date on SPPH student matters.
