Dr. Sbihi’s research focuses on the human health effects of the built environment (air pollution, natural/green spaces, and microbiome) across vulnerable subgroups of the population such as children and pregnant women.

Her work is interested in identifying intervention strategies to reduce exposures and improve health, and in integrating surveillance systems for emerging pathogens. Her postdoctoral training focused on transforming plausible mechanistic insights into effective applications for the prevention of pediatric allergic diseases such as asthma. Her current line of work integrates a program of applied research and surveillance to support public health policies for emerging pathogens in BC.
