Shaun Peck

Dr. Shaun Peck was the Medical Health Officer in Prince George (1980-1984), the Deputy Medical Health Officer for the City of Vancouver (1984-1989), the Medical Health Officer for the Capital Regional District (1989-1995) and the Deputy Provincial Health Officer (1995-2004). In the latter position he managed the development of a special report on “Prevention of Falls and Injuries among the elderly” released in January 2004. He managed the development of a special Provincial Health Officers annual report on Drinking Water Quality (2001). He took a lead role in the development of BC’s Drinking Water Protection Act which was proclaimed in about 2005. He took a lead role as the Acting Provincial Health Officer (in the absence of the Provincial Health Officer) to coordinate the Ministries of Health response to SARS in BC in 2003.
