“My first year in the MHA program has been an incredible journey. As an Inuvialuk Registered Nurse living, working, and playing in Chief Drygeese Territory in the Akaitcho Region of Denendeh, Yellowknife Northwest Territories, I recognized a need for Indigenous perspectives and worldviews in health care leadership to create safer and more equitable spaces for Northerners. I am grateful for the supportive and encouraging community of MHA staff and my peers. This program has equipped me to be a confident leader, capable in advancing culturally safe care, improving health outcomes and contributing to reconciliation through Indigenous-led health care.”
