Pink Shirt Day has grown into a global movement, starting when a group of students stood up for a classmate who was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. Unfortunately, bullying is still a big issue in schools, workplaces, homes, and online, so it’s important for all of us to come together to spread kindness and stand up for those who need it most. At UBC, we are committed to providing an inclusive, safe, respectful and vibrant place to work and learn.
The School of Population and Public Health encourages you to join this Pink Shirt Day 2025, and support this year’s theme “Let Kindness Grow”. Whether you wear a pink shirt, download a pink Zoom background, or find your own way to get involved, your participation helps raise awareness about the harmful effects of bullying. It also reminds us of the importance of sharing kindness, compassion, and empathy wherever we are—at work, school, or home. By simply wearing a pink shirt, people all around the world unite to celebrate a world without bullying.
