Abstract: Representations of Indigenous health have large information gaps; organizations struggle with data sovereignty and equitable representation of Indigenous People while they search for meaningful information to create a system of care that is ethical. Working with several researchers across Canada we are identifying core elements to include in cultural safety evaluation. Cultural safety has been identified as a critically informed action to shift health services to be more inclusive of Indigenous People where they normally experience systemic and interpersonal racism This research looks to identify where systemic racism persists within health services, the individual health effects of racism, and the efforts that have demonstratively reduced the effect and incidence of racist experiences. This research looks to combine methods of investigation to create a technique of triangulation to provide the contextual information that is critical in Indigenous health representation.
