The School of Population and Public Health wishes to acknowledge and send our sincerest condolences to the family of the late Elder Doris Fox, a highly respected leader and matriarch in the Musqueam Territory. It is with great sadness that SPPH learned of the passing of Elder Fox on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
Elder Doris Fox was a committee member of the Scholar in Indigenous Health Sciences Recruitment Committee. She was an active participant in discussions providing her invaluable guidance and knowledge of Indigenous ways of knowing to SPPH. Elder Fox’s knowledge of the Musqueam land, language and culture shaped the committee’s dialogue around the sensitive nature of this recruitment. We are forever grateful for her guidance and contributions to our School.
