SPPH doctoral students receive prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships

Three doctoral students in the School of Population and Public Health have been honoured with the prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) for their work advancing health research.

Across Canada, 166 doctoral students received the Vanier CGS. The 2024 recipients were revealed as part of a Government of Canada announcement on May 28.

“Canada is a world-leader in research and innovation, and the individuals we are recognizing today are a testament to that,” said the Honourable Mark Holland, Minister of Health. “Their research holds tremendous promise for making our lives better and healthier in a variety of ways.”

The Vanier CGS program awards up to $50,000 per year for three years to students working in social sciences and humanities, natural sciences, engineering and health.
