Dr MacNab is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics in the UBC School for Population and Public Health.

Dr. MacNab’s statistics research interests are statistical learning, hierarchical learning, highly structured system, (Multivariate) Gaussian Markov random fields, space-time statistics, graphical model, statistical computation, Bayesian hierarchical model and inferential framework, Bayesian design and analysis of spatial and dynamic computer experiments, system dynamics models, structured statistical models, item response theory, inductive reasoning.

Dr. MacNab’s applied research interests are systems science, systems approach to population and public health research, disease mapping, dynamic mapping of burden of disease, health economics, environment and climate research, medical imaging, applied ethics.
