Joel Singer

I have been at UBC since 1990, beginning as an assistant professor and progressing to full professor in 2002.

I have spent most of my research career as a research methodologist with interests in clinical epidemiology in general, and clinical trials primarily. In this regard, I have served as the lead methodologist in clinical trials in numerous areas, including HIV, cardiology, maternal and child care, renal disease, intensive care, emergency care, addiction and health promotion.

I have also been involved in the development of diagnostic and prognostic models in many of these clinical areas as well. My current focus is in the area of HIV, pregnancy and perinatology, and addiction.
