Dr. Davies studies human exposure to hazardous chemicals and physical agents in the workplace and the community. He is Principle Investigator of the Canadian Workplace Exposure Database Project, a repository of half million occupational exposure measurements from around Canada. He also has over 85 peer-reviewed publications and his work has been cited 3600 times.

He is a board-certified industrial hygienist (CIH), a member of the ACGIH Chemical Substances TLV Committee, past-president of the Canadian Association of Research on Work and Health and served as Chair of the International Congress on the Biological Effects of Noise (Team 3).

Publications

His current research is investigating exposure to hazardous drugs in health care and veterinarian workers, the effects of chemical exposures on workers’ hearing, and employee health in overdose prevention sites. He has studied the “non-auditory” effects of noise, investigating the role of noise at home and work in cardiovascular diseases, adverse birth outcomes, rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes, and the impact of noise on childhood learning.
