SPHA 562 (MHA Year Two) will provide students with an introduction to health care law by offering an overview of federal and provincial acts and regulations. Current legal issues pertinent to healthcare administrators, researchers, and policy makers will be used to develop critical reasoning and analytical skills.

Brent Parker is an Adjunct Professor for the Faculty of Medicine & teaches Health Law for UBC’s Master of Health Administration. Brent is also the owner of Stream Law Group which focuses on health law, professional liability and medical malpractice, information security, privacy law and injury law. He has over twelve years of experience working in the field of healthcare in privacy, risk management, complex project management, evaluation, research, policy development, and quality improvement.
