Dr. Annalee Yassi

Annalee Yassi MD MSc FRCPC is a Professor in SPPH and a medical specialist in Public Health and Preventive Medicine as well as Occupational Medicine. She held a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Global Health and Capacity-building for three terms (2001-2022) and has decades of experience conducting collaborative interdisciplinary mixed methods intervention studies in Latin America (Cuba, Ecuador) and southern Africa (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique – and recently Eswatini) in communities as well as healthcare workplaces.  Dr. Yassi co-directs a World Health Organization collaborating centre along with Dr. Spiegel. She is passionate about social justice issues and their impact on health.
