Certified Health Executive (CHE) Designation

Want to work toward your MHA degree and Canada’s top professional health care leadership designation simultaneously? With UBC’s MHA program, you can.

A strategic alliance between the MHA program and CCHL means MHA students can complete the CHE program faster and at a reduced cost than other applicants. The comprehensiveness of the MHA program allows our students to receive advanced standing and full credit for the following three of the five CHE designation requirements:

  1. LEADS 360 Assessment and 90-minute debriefing
  2. LEADS Learning Series equivalency
  3. LEADS in Action Project

MHA candidates who enter the CHE program only complete these two modules to gain their CHE leadership certification credential:

  1. Leadership Development Plan
  2. CHE Evaluation Process

No other graduate program provides the same equivalency in meeting the CHE requirements as our UBC MHA.

Our outstanding leadership-based curriculum also allows students to benefit from another special exemption. Graduates of the MHA program  receive full credit to meet the requirements of the CHE.

Other benefits include:

  • Reduced CHE program application fee: *$900 rather than regular fee of $1,600
(*enrol in the CHE program within one year of graduating from your MHA)
  • CCHL student rate: $60 per year
  • 7 Maintenance of Credential (MOC) credits
