In SPHA 522 Strategic Human Resources Management (MHA Year One), students learn the importance of aligning the management of human resources with organizational strategy. The course will explore the key aspects of forming & maintaining a work force. Topics will be considered from the perspectives of employment law; impacts of unions and collective bargaining, and progressive human resource management.

Amy Stanley is a Full-time Lecturer in the Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Division at the Sauder School of Business at UBC. Stanley has worked in various HR roles in London and Vancouver including 8 years as an HR Manager in the Department of Medicine at UBC. She manages her own leadership development business, Leading Light Executive Coaching, and is the Program Head for the Human Resource Program at BCIT where she also teaches Learning and Development and Performance Management. Amy has a global client list from a range of industries including business, finance, government and education.
