Organizational Behaviour – SPHA 521

It is people, not organizations that care for patients, find opportunities for improvements, and make critical decisions.

Today’s health care professionals face increasingly complex challenges and an uncertain work environment. In SPHA 521 Organizational Behaviour (MHA Year One), the emphasis is on understanding and demonstrating how to manage people as an integral part of a high-performing organization. The course begins by focusing on how health care administrators can “make a difference” when leading people. Within that framework, we emphasize the significant roles of organizational culture, influence and power, conflict management, and motivation in managing people. Last, we examine how to implement change.
