Dr. Trevor Corneil (MD MHSc FCFP FRCPC) is Associate Director Clinical Faculty Affairs and Program Director for the PHPM program at UBC’s School of Population Public Health. He is also a Medical Health Officer with Northern Health (NH) authority with responsibilities that include Public Health Response and NH’s Public Health Observatory.

A Public Health & Preventive Medicine specialist and practising Inner-city Medicine physician with over 20 years of experience in both clinical and administrative practice in BC, Dr. Corneil brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role. Dr. Corneil has worked with numerous health authorities, government agencies, universities, and non-profit organizations across Canada and internationally in various consultant, educational, and senior leadership positions. Most recently he served as Senior Medical Advisor for BC Government’s COVID-19 Pandemic Response. A Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Corneil has held numerous positions in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education at UBC.

Dr. Corneil received his Bachelor in Life Sciences and Doctor of Medicine degrees from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He then undertook his residency training at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, completing fellowships in both family medicine and public health and preventative medicine, and a master’s degree in public health and epidemiology. Dr. Corneil is a fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the College of Family Practice of Canada.
