What are the requirements?
- Fully qualified generalist or specialist physician currently practicing in Canada under a full license with a provincial medical regulatory authority.
- A list of provincial medical regulatory authorities can be found here.
- Completed at least two years of an accredited post-graduate residency training program recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
- A list of accredited postgraduate training programs can be found here.
- Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident

Re-entry residency positions are offered on a competitive basis by application outside of the Canadian Residency Matching Service (CaRMS) process. Interested applicants must submit their application package for review by our Selections Committee. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and offered an interview by the PHPM Residency Program Selections Committee. Interviews will take place at any time during the calendar year
