Dr. Tribesty Nguyen (he/him/his) is a resident physician with 10 years of experience in social justice, health equity, health policy, and political advocacy, particularly with 2SLGBTQ+, refugee, and racialized communities. He is a settler of colour, living, working, and learning on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.   

Tribesty has worked with numerous government agencies and community organizations in consultant, academic, and leadership positions, including as Chair for the Health Initiative for Men, Co-Chair for the City of Vancouver’s 2SLGBTQ+ Advisory Council, and Policy Analyst for the BC Ministry of Health.  

Tribesty received Bachelor of Science degrees in Microbiology and Biology at the University of Victoria, a Master of Arts in Health (specializing in Health Policy and Equity) at York University, and a Master of Public Health and Doctor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. He is currently undertaking specialty medical training in public health and preventive medicine at UBC. 

Tribesty’s research, clinical, and public health interests include addictions, mental health, health equity, and health promotion for 2SLGBTQ+, refugee, and racialized populations. In his spare time, he enjoys cuddling with his puppy, drinking bubble tea, and has unfortunately discovered the black hole that is Tik Tok.
